Henry’s Presenting at the International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) 2013
The International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW), which features the theme “A merging of theory and practice”, is coming to France for the first time : Grenoble and Chamonix, 7 – 11 October. The ISSW committee accepted Henry and Val d’Isère’s presentation entitled “Ride Hard, Ride Safe! Val d’Isère”.
The goal of this presentation is to communicate and share the Henry’s Avalanche Talk (HAT) ‘Ride Hard, Ride Safe!’ concept with the international snow and avalanche community in order to stimulate discussion, debate and new ideas on how ski areas can best encourage people to have fun, and, at the same time, reduce accidents, through education and awareness, rather than through restrictions.
For more information on the innovative ways in which Henry and Val d’Isère are working on communicating with winter sports enthusiasts (see photo), click here for a link to the abstract on the ISSW 2013 website.
If you’re thinking that this looks like an interesting event, it is! You don’t need to be a professional snow person to attend. We really enjoy them because we get a chance to meet, see and listen to top snow/avalanche experts and practitioners from all over the world.
It’s also a great time to catch up with lots of people who share the same interests. There will be simultaneous translations of all presentations into English, French, Italian and German.
Hope to see you there!
Henry
